The newest British sports car will be based on the Mercedes-AMG M139 4-cylinder, two-liter engine with a turbo that generates 360 horsepower, and this number is much less than the engine capacity in the different Mercedes models, where the power reaches 416 horsepower in the AMG A45 S
This car is also available with a second choice of V6 engines, a capacity of 3.5 liters, supercharged from Toyota, with more power up to 400 hp and 420 Nm of torque, which can be available on the First Edition version.
Lotus says the engine is a "custom version" of the M139, which includes hardware designed to help integrate it into the sports car's design, though the company didn't say where it lost nearly 60 horsepower. The Mercedes-AMG engine is connected to an 8-speed double-clutch automatic gearbox that delivers power to the rear wheels.
