 The new Ranger has a more massive look than its predecessor. This includes front lights and an enlarged grille giving it a family resemblance to the latest F-150, as well as more angular wheel arches. The rear light units have also been redesigned. The wheelbase of this Ranger has been extended by 5 cm compared to that of the previous one by moving the front wheels towards the bow. Combined with the new shape of the engine bay, this operation has improved the angle of attack of the vehicle and, therefore, its capabilities off the beaten track. The utility has also been widened by 5 cm. Its rear shocks pushed back outside the chassis rails are supposed to improve on- and off-road handling while allowing for the loading of wider objects, such as a full-size pallet. Running boards were installed just behind the rear wheels. The bed has a new protective coating, additional tie-down points and dividers. Clever: its tailgate incorporates a ruler and clamping areas to serve as a workbench. A wide range of accessories is also provided. Note that the exterior lighting, which provides light all around the Ranger, can be controlled via the on-board touch screen or the FordPass mobile application.  


The new Ford Ranger will be launched in Europe with a 2.0L four-cylinder turbo diesel offering two power levels, a 2.0L twin-turbo diesel and a 3.0L V6 turbo diesel. For the moment, Ford does not communicate either the power or the torque. However, the firm announces several types of all-wheel drive in the catalog, a new gearbox control and driving modes dedicated to off-roading. Nothing is said about a possible Raptor version.
