Make a scooter made in France, electric and recyclable for the future. This is the bet of the young company Mob-ion created in 2016 with its very first-born, the AM1!At the initiative of this project, the president of Mob-ion, Christian Bruere, one of the men behind the foundation of Allo Resto, better known today as Just Eat!Let's go back to the scooter of the French brand and go into more detail in the characteristics of the latter, starting with its origin.Indeed, the AM1 has indeed been Certified Origine France Garantie since August 2021, but some additional information is good to know.
According to Christian Bruere, for the moment, the scooter is only "68.9% made in France" because part of the design of the AM1 (brake caliper, chassis or certain parts ofshock absorbers) is made in China. This is a figure that tends to change because with the recent acquisition of a new 25,000 m2 factory in Guise near Saint-Quentin, everything could be done in France. Thus the scooter would be more than 80% made in France, according to its president.Mob-ion has 3 other sites currently in France. One is in Nantes and deals exclusively with the manufacture of electronic boards.Another is in Artigues-près-Bordeaux in Gironde and is responsible for manufacturing the batteries. Finally, the last factory is in Bezons in the Val-d'Oise and ensures the maintenance of vehicles in Ile-de-France.In 2022, Mob-ion can only produce 4,000 scooters per year but hopes, from 2024, to reach the 30,000 mark
