New Toyota Crown SUV cars in digital images that excite us about what's coming

Toyota Crown cars were sold in the rear-wheel drive luxury sedan class for 15 generations, and the Crown sedan was commonly used in Japan to transport government officials in its home country. And while there were times when the name Crown was used on coupes, wagons and even pickups, as well as crossovers and pickup trucks in China, the name Crown, which in Arabic means crown, has always been a luxury sedan since 1955. But that's about to change for the next-generation Toyota Crown, as revealed in leaked patent images from Japan, where the model will become an SUV rather than a luxury sedan.

Our friends from Kolesa have taken the liberty of submitting unofficial renders based on leaked patent images suggesting what the Crown SUV would look like. As you can see, according to the imaginary images that anticipate the shape of the tall car, the new Toyota Crown will undergo a radical update on the chassis, and it now has a high-ride rear chassis, meaning it is an SUV, reminiscent of the Citron C5 X and the recently unveiled Peugeot 408. Kolesa added color to the patent images to give life to the black and white graphics. The images here show a blue color for the paint job, showing a stark contrast between the body and the darker parts of the car. Details are scarce about the upcoming new Crown, although it will arrive as the Toyota Crown Cross, and will also be larger than the discontinued S220 version that was around until 2018. Sources from Japan said that the new Toyota Crown cars will be powered by a 2.5-liter hybrid 4-cylinder engine or a 2.4-liter turbo engine with an electric motor working alongside them, and it will have a 6-speed automatic transmission. We will know more details about the upcoming Toyota Crown in the next few days, as it will be revealed for the first time on July 15, God willing.
