 Nissan will supply third-generation engines to McLaren Racing




The new partnership with McLaren coincides with Nissan's direct participation in the highly anticipated third generation of the sport, and Nissan will continue to compete in Formula E with its own team as the world's leading expert in the design and manufacture of all-electric vehicles, following its recent acquisition of Team E. Dams. Nissan and McLaren Racing will collaborate closely as they compete with other successful brands in one of the world's most technologically advanced and challenging racing series. Nissan is participating in the championship to bring the fun of zero-emission electric vehicles to the global audience. The company intends to convert all-new Nissan cars in major markets to electric vehicles by early 2030, as part of its goal to achieve carbon neutrality in all its operations and the life cycle of its products by 2050, and the Japanese automaker seeks to harness its expertise in transferring knowledge and technology between race tracks. And ways to deliver better electric cars to customers.

 

About Nissan in Formula E :

 Nissan participated for the first time in the all-electric car race in the fifth season (2018/2019) of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, becoming the first and only Japanese manufacturer to enter this series. In the seventh season (2021/2022), Nissan announced its long-term participation in Formula E and its commitment to the third generation era, which will continue from the ninth season (2022/2023) of the series until the end of season 12 (2025/2026). In April 2022, Nissan announced its acquisition of Team E. dams Racing to become the owner and fully supervise its participation in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Experienced driver Sebastien Buemi participates in the current (eighth) season with the team for the fourth season, having joined the Nissan e-Team. dams “Since the beginning of his Formula E journey in 2018, the Swiss racer has been collaborating with rising star Maximilian Gunther, who joined the team in September 2021. The German driver has previously shown great speed in the championship, won three races and finished second on the podium.
