The American electric car maker mentioned its wireless charging system during its investor day in March, When the presentation by Rebecca Tinucci, head of global charging architecture at Tesla, included a slide showing an image of a Model S parked on top of what appeared to be a wireless charging pad.

News of Tesla's latest acquisition comes shortly after a consortium of automakers including BMW Group, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz Group and Stellantis announced it was forming a partnership to build a North American electric vehicle charging network to rival Supercharge network. The alliance's plan calls for at least 30,000 chargers across the United States and Canada, with support for CCS and NACS sockets, charging capacities of at least 250 kW, and a maximum charging capacity of 400 kW.
