"Former Lawyers of Rudy Giuliani File Lawsuit Seeking Over $1.3 Million in Unpaid Legal Fees"

A law firm that provided legal representation to Rudy Giuliani during a period marked by investigations and lawsuits is now taking legal action against him. They are suing Giuliani for an outstanding sum exceeding $1.3 million in unpaid legal fees. This financial dispute arises as the former Mayor of New York City grapples with escalating bills stemming from his involvement in events surrounding the 2020 presidential election for Donald Trump.

The law firm in question, Davidoff Hutcher & Citron, has revealed that Giuliani has only settled $214,000 of his overall legal expenses. This leaves him indebted to the tune of $1,360,196 for services rendered by the firm's attorneys. The legal work pertains to a range of high-profile cases, including Giuliani's now-closed foreign lobbying federal criminal investigation, investigations linked to the events of January 6, 2021, conducted by Georgia state prosecutors, the House of Representatives, and the federal special counsel's office, as well as various lawsuits and attorney discipline inquiries that emerged after the 2020 election.

According to a complaint filed in a New York state court on Monday, Giuliani's most recent payment to the firm was made just four days ago, totaling $10,000.

Davidoff Hutcher & Citron managed Giuliani's legal affairs from late 2019 until July of the current year, as stated in the filing.

Responding to the lawsuit, Giuliani issued a statement through his spokesman, Ted Goodman, expressing personal disappointment in the actions of Robert Costello, a partner in the firm and a long-time associate of Giuliani. Giuliani remarked that such actions by lawyers are regrettable, and he suggested that the legal bill presented by the firm significantly exceeds what he considers reasonable fees.

Giuliani has openly admitted in court to facing difficulties in meeting his mounting legal expenses and coping with unfavorable court rulings, with the expectation that further legal costs will accrue in the future.
