Introducing the New 2025 Subaru WRX tS

Just before the end of this week, the 2025 Subaru WRX tS was unveiled. However, it's certainly not on par with the performance of the WRX STI. Subaru has previously announced that they will not be building an STI version of the current generation WRX, which disappointed some fans of Japanese sports cars. Nevertheless, the automaker has introduced other slightly upgraded WRX models, though they don’t match the quality of the true STI version. Among these is the Subaru WRX TR, which debuted in 2023 and was discussed by our team at Arab GT. Today, we take our first look at the new WRX tS version.

Distinctive Design Features

The latest Subaru WRX tS 2025 stands out with its familiar Subaru blue paint and red WRX badge on the grille. The updated brakes feature Subaru’s distinctive bronze paint. Even without your glasses, you can spot the latest WRX tS with ease. The new design includes several actual performance upgrades.

Performance Enhancements

Similar to the WRX TR, the new tS version has been fine-tuned by Subaru's STI division. It features electronically controlled dampers, providing a sportier feel. Adjustable driving modes borrowed from the GT model, including a sport mode, are also available. High-performance Brembo brakes improve stopping power, with six pistons at the front and two at the rear.

Premium Wheels and Tires

The new sports car comes equipped with Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires (245/35) wrapped around 19-inch rims. This setup ensures superior handling and grip, enhancing the driving experience.

Powerful Engine and Transmission

Under the hood, the 2025 WRX tS retains the same 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine found in all WRX models, producing 271 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, offering an engaging driving experience.

Modern Interior Features

Inside, the Subaru WRX tS 2025 boasts a new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster complementing the 11.6-inch central touchscreen. The cabin features sporty Recaro seats upholstered in black synthetic leather with blue accents and WRX tS logos embossed on the headrests. Like all new WRX models, it includes Subaru’s EyeSight safety suite, with systems such as adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and more.

Conclusion

The 2025 Subaru WRX tS brings a blend of style, performance, and modern technology to the WRX lineup. While it may not match the legendary STI in terms of raw performance, it offers substantial upgrades and a compelling package for sports car enthusiasts.
