Lamborghini Announces Its Opinion on Fuel-Free Electric Cars

Lamborghini Announces Its Opinion on Fuel-Free Electric Cars

Lamborghini Announces Its Opinion on Electric Supercars, According to Recent Statements by the Italian Company's CEO.

Lamborghini's first fully electric car won't arrive until 2028, and it won't be a supercar! Instead, this car, which will be named Lamborghini Lanzador, will take the form of a Grand Tourer with a 2+2 seating arrangement.

This information confirms that Lamborghini's first fully electric car won't have a supercar design like the Lamborghini Huracan or the Lamborghini Revuelto, the Aventador's successor.

Why Won't a Fully Electric Lamborghini Supercar Be Made?

There is no commercial opportunity. The CEO of the Italian company believes that sales of fully electric supercars are poor.

Lamborghini's CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, stated that fully electric supercars "aren't something that sells yet." He went on to say that this type of vehicle might never become widespread: "It’s very early, and we have to see if and when this will happen."

With this official statement, we understand Lamborghini's stance on fully electric supercars.

It makes sense that Lamborghini is not rushing to provide an electric supercar model. The company still uses a V12 engine in the 2024 Revuelto, the successor to the Aventador, albeit with hybrid support. Meanwhile, the successor to the Huracan will have a smaller engine, moving away from the naturally aspirated V10 to a newly developed twin-turbo V8 with a hybrid system.

Undoubtedly, supercars are aimed at the wealthy, given their high prices. However, Rimac CEO Mate Rimac recently acknowledged that high-end buyers do not want supercars that rely entirely on electric power. This is why the Rimac Nevera is still on sale, despite its fame and limited production of just 150 units. For those who might not remember, this electric supercar developed in Croatia set at least 23 records last year. Nevertheless, it appears that the affluent are not enthusiastic about the idea of a fully electric vehicle
